The longer this whole pandemic goes on, the more we are all invited (forced?) to sit with and in our emotions. The emotions of this time, of our lives, are quarantining with us. Have you noticed?
I heard Dr. Susan Davis, a Harvard Medical School psychologist, give a talk the other day and she made such a simple and beautiful point about our heightened emotional experience during this time: our emotions are signals.
We've talked plenty about where emotions come from, you and I - emotions are created in our minds with our thoughts and beliefs. And we've done some exploring about where those emotions go - emotions drive our actions, reactions, overreactions, and inaction.
But considering emotions as signals was a new spin, and it gave rise to a whole podcast episode.
In this episode, we're going to talk about:
Values
Judging strangers at the grocery store
The quality of our actions
It's a good one, I'll see you there…
And let me hear from you! Comment below, send me an email, or connect with me on social media. I’d love to keep the conversation going with you, yes YOU, between episodes.
Join me on Facebook and come say “hi” over on Instagram…
