If You Don't Like Where You Are, Move: You're Not a Tree

Operating from a place where your feet are buried in the normal, expected, obligated, regular, same ol', same ol' leaves your arms flailing, your words shouted into space, your mind reeling.

This is a painful way to go about your life.

But you get used to the normal, expected, obligated, regular, same ol', same ol' and so you block your options. You forget you even have options. Your creativity tanks, your vision narrows to a pinhole, your days become Groundhog-like.

Here is the good news - if you don't like where you are, move: you are not a tree.

Take a good look around. Check out where you've planted your metaphorical roots. Examine the things you've forgotten, become blind to, starting ignoring. Consider what's serving you...and notice what's just plain not working. And then look again tomorrow and reconsider and notice again. And then do it again the day after that. Keep. Questioning. All of it...

Here's to waking up.

Here's to making conscious and deliberate decisions.

Here's to not settling for pain anymore.
